Symmetry is a powerful tool in logo design, shaping the image and perception that the target audience will have of a brand. A symmetrical logo features identical elements on both sides, with different levels of symmetry used to convey various meanings and ideas.

Symmetrical logos are often associated with balance, craftsmanship, and engineering, making them popular choices for car companies such as Volkswagen and Honda. However, different types of symmetry are also used in logo design, such as rotational symmetry used by Target and British Petroleum.

Interestingly, asymmetrical design can also be used to achieve logo symmetry, as seen in the Nintendo Switch logo. This demonstrates that while symmetry matters, there’s more to good logo design than just symmetry.

In this roundup, we’ll showcase some of the best symmetrical logo designs found online, offering inspiration for your next logo project. Whether you want to convey balance, precision, or other concepts, these logos demonstrate how symmetry can be used effectively to create a strong brand identity. So take a look and see how you can incorporate symmetry into your own logo design!

Designing a logo can be a daunting task, with strict constraints around recognition and visibility. Monograms – logos that use initials – offer a more personal option, particularly suited to individuals or brands that want to focus on personality and artistic expression.

Monogram logos tend to fall somewhere between a logo and a signature, offering a great way to represent your brand and showcase your creativity. This collection of my favorite monogram logo designs includes examples from real-life designers as well as practice designs and fictional brands. Each design showcases a unique style, with attention to detail and a clear display of care and effort.

These monogram logos offer a great source of inspiration for designers looking to create a unique brand identity that is personal and expressive. Whether you’re designing a logo for yourself or for a brand, monogram logos can be a great way to showcase your personality and artistic style while conveying the desired message.

]]>
Designing a logo is not an easy task, but when your client wants a simple logo, that task suddenly seems much harder. What makes designing a simple logo harder is the mere fact that the word ‘simple’ doesn’t necessarily mean easy. A simple logo can mean that design elements have been brought down to their bare essentials or that the logo makes use of clean typography. It can also mean the most basic concept you can think of.

Even though they can be tricky to design, simple logos are often more memorable when done right. Just think of Gap, Nike, and Coca-Cola. When it comes to logo design, it doesn’t get any simpler than that. Not only are those logos easy to remember and recognize, but they can also easily be reproduced from memory by anyone who’s come into contact with those brands before.

A few characteristics of simple logos include clean and modern fonts, or simple lines and illustrations. As far as color goes, they are black and white or often make use of just a single color. In some cases, they also make creative use of whitespace to convey a hidden meaning.

In this post, we’ve curated a collection of our favorite simple logos. All beautiful and all highly effective. They are effective because they communicate all the meaning they are intended to deliver. In mere seconds, as you’ll see in the examples below, they indeed deliver their meaning and message perfectly.

Use these logos to familiarize yourself with simple logo design principles and inspiration when creating your own simple logo design.

10 Stunning Business Cards with Simple Geometric Designs https://speckyboy.com/geometric-business-cards/ https://speckyboy.com/geometric-business-cards/#respond Wed, 09 Aug 2023 21:02:21 +0000 https://speckyboy.com/?p=108293 We share a collection of beautifully designed business cards that put geometry at the very center of their design.

The post 10 Stunning Business Cards with Simple Geometric Designs appeared first on Speckyboy Design Magazine.

]]>
When it comes to geometric designs, the first thing that comes to mind is, of course, simplicity. It feels like it is one of the most primitive and easiest ways to create a design.

All you need to do is to mix and match lines and shapes. However, things are not always what they seem. And artworks by Kazimir Malevich, a pioneer in abstract art, are clear proof of that.

Geometric art is a combination of varied-sized shapes, weights, and colors. Intricacy accompanies each and every artwork. Yes, at some point, they are simple – but also complex. And this unique combination is intriguing. It appeals to us, lures us in, and sparks our interest.

Today, we share a collection of stunning business cards that put geometry at the center of their design.

Granatalm — Heart on the Mountain

This example was created by a skilled Austria-based design team for a hotel. It looks incredible. They’ve used squares, rhombuses, and zigzags to weave this plaid-like pattern. The design of these business cards and other elements of the brand identity feel hospitable, inviting, and modern.

Granatalm — Heart on the mountain

Shine Bright! Business Card

This is another excellent example. You can easily distinguish two types of patterns. The first one is based on circles, whereas the second one is populated with spots. It naturally grabs the attention and directs it towards the tiny solid circle in the upper right corner.

Shine Bright geometric business card example inspirational

Reality Lab London Business Card

Much like the very first example in our collection, this project by Ramin Nasibov is marked by geometric patterns with a high density of details. The author has experimented with various shapes – starting with lines and ending with hexagons – thereby coming up with a fantastic range of concepts that are tied together into one idea.

Cultural Centre in Lublin Branding

The concept instantly catches the eye with its subtle yet intricate design. There is nothing fancy, yet still, it manages to draw our attention as well as unobtrusively establish an aura of creativity.

CULTURAL CENTRE IN LUBLIN BRANDING geometric business card example inspirational

Taiheiyo Kensha Branding Project

The combination of colors creates a slight anaglyph effect that makes things visually interesting in this business card. Simple geometric shapes such as triangles and polygons stand behind the project’s aesthetics. Without a doubt, it has marvelous authenticity and charm.

Taiheiyo Kensha Branding Project geometric business card example inspirational

Second Choice Business Card

This business card demonstrates that all you need is a primitive shape and one color to make things look interesting. From the get-go, it becomes evident that this project has something to do with fashion. The idea is brilliant. It is simple yet ingenious.

Second Choice geometric business card example inspirational

dots&dash Business Card

If you feel like a pastel or minimal color scheme is not for you, you can always try to use some bright ones, much like this business card. The coloring is vibrant, yet it does not overpower the design. Bold geometric shapes and bright colors make this artwork so unique.

dots&dash geometric business card example inspirational

Konsou Business Card

If the previous example is too much and you prefer to stick to the time-proven choices, like a traditional black-and-white scheme, you should take a look at this business card. A music platform lies at the heart of this project, so it is not surprising that the design feels energetic and dynamic – even despite such a monochromatic environment. Shapes give it energy.

Konsou geometric business card example inspirational

Unconventional Business Cards

This unconventional business card is an experiment created by Huan Nguye. He has taken the charm of the geometric world to the next level, making the business card interactive. Bearing in mind the rule that good design should be invisible and only revealed when needed, he has managed to create a masterpiece. Explore his presentation over at Behance for further information.

Unconventional Business Cards geometric business card example inspirational

A+PRACOWNIA Business Card

This example will delight you with its marvelous minimalistic approach. There is lots of fresh air, the colors are neutral, and the shapes are primitive. However, with all that, the business card, as well as the other brand identity pieces, look interesting, and they go perfectly well with the architectural theme.

A+PRACOWNIA Architect geometric business card example inspirational

Costa-Perini Letterpress Business Card

This business card example is a well-thought-out combination of simple geometric shapes – starting with straight lines and ending with curved brackets. However, it has a certain art deco quality that looks splendid thanks to the beautifully embossed details. It is an apotheosis of geometric designs.

Costa-Perini Letterpress geometric business card example inspirational geometric business card example inspirational

Defying Expectations

It may seem at first sight that designs where geometry runs the show are destined to be dull, primitive, and insipid. However, by no means do they concede to other stylistic solutions. They can be:

  • Extravagant like Shine Bright.
  • Bright and bold like dots&dash.
  • Suthentic like Granatalm.
  • Ultra-modern like Taiheiyo Kensha Branding.
  • Traditional like A+PRACOWNIA.
  • and even highly sophisticated like Costa-Perini Letterpress.

This direction is multifaceted and gives you lots of opportunities to show the world your creativity.

Unlike many other products that are instantly reached for brand recognition, most people don’t take enough of an interest in wine to have a particular brand they go back to time after time.

That’s why wine label design is one of the most important marketing tools wine manufacturers have available to them. From the classic, elegant designs to those that bring some humor to a sometimes snooty industry, wine labels are there to catch our attention.

Wine labels convey many things: flavor, variety, even the situation that a particular bottle is suited for. Most importantly, they convey a mood designed to grab the target market of the winemaker, whether we’re talking about younger party-goers who like funky labels or wine connoisseurs who prefer a traditional label.

With so many types of wines from so many regions, there’s a huge amount of market competition. Winemakers rely on label and brand design to help them step up their sales more than ever before. Check out some of the best examples of innovative wine label design.

The post 50 Minimal Fashion Label Logo Designs for Ideas & Inspiration appeared first on Speckyboy Design Magazine.

]]>
The design of a fashion label’s logo is critical to its success. A logo should be instantly recognizable and evoke the brand’s ideals, just like the interlocking C’s of Chanel, the interlocking G’s of Gucci, or the V sitting atop an L of Louis Vuitton. These logos are designed to be versatile, with variations for different materials and screens. They usually employ a simple color scheme, often in black and white, and are carefully crafted to be memorable and unique.

Simplicity is key in fashion logos, and this collection showcases memorable examples of clean, crisp, and creative designs. These logos feature bold structures, strategic use of white space, strict color palettes, and powerful letters. Each design is crafted to sit perfectly on a swing tag or latch onto an accessory with sophisticated style.

While many fashion logos share similar characteristics, this collection highlights the subtle differences that set each apart and make them unique. The collaboration of bold structures, gaping white space, strict color palettes, and powerful letters demonstrates the power of minimalism in fashion logo design.

Admiring these logos, we are reminded that style lies in simplicity. Fashion logos should be able to complement their brand’s image and tell a story through a simple yet powerful design. These logos showcase the importance of strategic design and demonstrate the potential for a logo to be a statement piece that elevates the brand’s identity.

30 Fantastic Restaurant Logo Design Ideas for Inspiration https://speckyboy.com/restaurant-logo-inspiration/ https://speckyboy.com/restaurant-logo-inspiration/#comments Sat, 05 Aug 2023 23:16:58 +0000 http://speckyboy.com/?p=14340 A collection of the best logo designs that you can use as inspiration to create your own beautiful restaurant logo brand design.

The post 30 Fantastic Restaurant Logo Design Ideas for Inspiration appeared first on Speckyboy Design Magazine.

A logo is one of the most recognizable elements of any brand, which is why it’s important to get the design just right. Your logo is usually the first touchpoint people have with your brand and as such, it should help you attract your ideal customer or client.

A restaurant logo should be easy to recognize as well as unique to the restaurant itself. It should easily build brand recognition which means your patrons should instantly recognize your advertisement whenever or wherever they come across it, be it TV, a billboard, or a social media post.

Your logo should also stand the test of time, which is why you shouldn’t rely exclusively on the latest and greatest design trends when it comes to logo design. Since a logo is crucial in building brand recognition, it shouldn’t be redesigned very often.

When it comes to restaurant logos, there are plenty of ways to get creative with your logo design. From adding food or kitchen-related icons to adding elements associated with a particular culture for ethnic restaurants, you can make a restaurant logo stand out. However, don’t be afraid to go against the norm and create a logo concept that uses abstract elements.

In this collection, we’ve rounded up the best restaurant logo designs that you can use as inspiration to create a beautiful and memorable restaurant logo design. You’ll find simple typographic logos as well as more complex ones that use a combination of wordmarks and symbols. Check out the full collection below and get inspired!

10 Inspiring Examples of Using Typography to Establish Brand Identity https://speckyboy.com/typography-establish-brand-identity/ https://speckyboy.com/typography-establish-brand-identity/#respond Sat, 05 Aug 2023 13:42:00 +0000 https://speckyboy.com/?p=108781 Learn how to use typography to create a strong brand identity for your business. Practical tips for choosing fonts, and expressing your brand personality.

The post 10 Inspiring Examples of Using Typography to Establish Brand Identity appeared first on Speckyboy Design Magazine.

]]>
The great thing about typography is that it always makes sense. You do not need to read between the lines to get the point of the idea. Everything lies just on the surface. But, even though it’s self-explanatory, type can still provide design with a compelling, story-like feel.

And when typography is the driving force behind brand identity, it will always catch the eye. Even though it does not possess the same qualities as other types of art, it is still very flexible. It can be minimal or, on the contrary, wildly extravagant. It can be monochromatic or packed with bright colors. It can feature common fonts or custom ones.

Indeed, typography-centric designs can be incredibly creative and multi-faceted. To prove this, we have a collection of splendid examples where typography is the focal point.

Publishing House by Maurizio Pagnozzi

The name of the project speaks for itself. Publishing is widely associated with books. Therefore, the designer has used the word “book” set in an eccentric custom font as a basis for the design.

Not only is it featured in the logotype but also in the background and decorative elements. Concentric circles can lead eyes wherever you need them to stand behind the beauty of this unique design. Although Maurizio Pagnozzi may have taken it a little too literally, the result is fantastic.

Publishing House by Maurizio Pagnozzi

archAssist by Pop & Pac Studio

The letter “A” is the heart and soul of this project. The idea is simple yet clever. The team of creative studio Pop & Pac shows us how taking a minimal approach can shine when in the right hands.

Inspired by the beautiful “rotational” designs of Frank Lloyd Wright and other famous artists, they demonstrate their unique take on reinterpreting geometry.

archAssist by Pop & Pac Studio

Materia by Paprika

This project falls into the group of artwork that follows the “less is more” principle. The design is incredibly simplified, yet this does not mean that it is dull.

On the contrary, it charms with the complexity of forms and intricacy of an idea. Smooth curved lines with no beginning or end form each letter and decorative details.

Materia by Paprika

Personal Branding by Dianne Butial

The personal branding of Dianne Butial screams out the eagerness of the artist to create bold ideas. Without a doubt, her current project made a statement, and a skillful play with typography helped her to do this.

The beautifully elongated letters have transformed a simple word into a decorative tool. It is used as a logotype as well as the pattern for prettifying the back of the business card, along with some other stationery items.

Personal Branding by Dianne Butial

Linewise – Personal Branding by Pooja Bhapkar

Pooja Bhapkar and her branding project naturally catch the eye with its whimsical design. The beautiful, hand-crafted typography aims to tell readers a colorful story.

It is so expressive that you don’t need any other decorative elements. The typographic centerpiece is bold, multi-faceted, bizarre, and truly unique.

Linewise - Personal Branding by Pooja Bhapkar

Project by Tariq Yosef

The Arabic alphabet, as well as the East Asian alphabets, have a unique charm and a powerful personality. And this concept created by Tariq Yosef is vivid proof of that.

Using the simplest geometric shapes, the designer has created fantastic letterforms. They are bold, playful, and inspiring.

Project by Tariq Yosef

Al Hudaida Hotel Brand Identity Design by Yogas Andrian

Much like the previous example, a beautiful Arabic text takes center stage here. It is used to create the logo as well as the pattern for decorating other elements of the brand identity.

Simple geometric forms and a gorgeous blue color convey the hotel’s lovely atmosphere for which the concept was created.

Al Hudaida Hotel Brand Identity Design by Yogas Andrian

Premio AV 5th edition by Happycentro Design Studio

This design may look a bit like archAssist by Pop & Pac Studio, featured above. Here, the Happycentro team uses space, primitive geometric shapes, and a halftone effect.

However, they are different. In the case of Premio AV 5th Edition, there are two symbols: “A” and “5”, and together they represent the fifth anniversary of the magazine «AV».

Premio AV 5th edition by Happycentro Design Studio

Personal Branding by Daniela Flores Chacón

Typography and a well-thought-out color palette are the two main components of the personal branding of Daniela Flores Chacón.

Note that it does not look girlish or schmaltzy. On the contrary, it is serious and business-like. Taking the word “hey” as the central element of the design, Daniele has created a pattern that enriches the background. It is also featured on the back side of the business card, serving as a welcoming message.

Personal Branding by Daniela Flores Chacón

Chalkboard Lettering Stationery Set by Lisa Nemetz

Our collection wouldn’t be complete without the Chalkboard Lettering Stationery Set by Lisa Nemetz. The project feels rustic, authentic, and hipster-like. The most inspiring aspect lies in the intricate combination of words and decorative details.

Even though this kind of lettering demands a chalkboard-like surface to reveal its beauty, nevertheless, grainy surfaces of various colors, as well as non-uniform backgrounds, will do the trick – giving you lots of room for creativity.

Chalkboard Lettering Stationery Set by Lisa Nemetz

Creating a Strong Identity

You need to be rational, reasonable, and conservative when it comes to business cards, notebooks, and other types of stationery seen in brand identity projects. After all, you are limited by space. However, even though you are obliged to fit your idea onto a small sheet of paper, you aren’t restricted by your imagination.

Using typography to create the entire design is a unique way to go. With a selection of custom font families, you can go for a minimalistic approach like Pop & Pac Studio did with their concept “archAssist” or a highly decorative one like Pooja Bhapkar did with her branding.

Not only will it stand behind the overall beauty, but it will also support the message and communicate the story behind the brand. Typography was, is, and always will be a valid option for your design projects – regardless of their scale.
